WHAT ARE CHEWIES OR ALIGNER FITTERS?
Chewies or aligner fitters are small cylinders which can be used in orthodontic therapy with clear aligners/invisible braces. It can be used with any invisible braces brand. Croatian chewies are manufactured in European Union, in Croatia. They are made of medical material that meets:
- EU Food Contact Materials (FCM) standards
- USA Food Contact Materials (FCM) standards
so can be used safely in the mouth.
Chewies look like a small rollers. Clear aligner user bite chewies while the aligners are on the teeth.
ADVANTAGES OF USING CROATIAN CHEWIES
Main and only advantage of using chewies with clear aligners is to help to properly seat aligners on their teeth. Clear aligner user bite fitter while aligners are on the teeth which push aligners close as possible against the teeth. As aligners are on right position this could lead to several advantages.
- Reduces possibility of creating gaps between aligners and teeth
- As aligners are closer to the teeth will lead to more precise work of forces involved in tooth movement
It’s recommended that chewies are used each time when placing aligners on the teeth. This makes it easier and more precise to position the aligners on the intended place.
HOW TO USE CHEWIES OR ALIGNER FITTERS?
Chewie is used in a way that user takes it with his fingers, puts it in his mouth and bites it while aligners are on his teeth. Before and after using it, user should wash chewie and store it. This should be repeated each time when chewie is used.
For safety and hygienic reasons it is recommended that chewies are changed once a week or together with change of aligners. When user changes his aligners, e.g. when changing aligner number 4 with aligner number 5, user should throw chewie and take new chewie together with new set of aligners (1 aligner = 1 fitter).
Due to COVID-19 and other possible virus and bacterial infections we strongly recommend that you follow our instructions of regular changing chewies.

- Start Treatment – after you receive patient aligners from Invisalign you are ready to place attachments and start treatment. Should you need any help in getting started we are happy to help.
